A community space for young voices in the Northern Suburbs of Launceston

Youth Voices Project Pizza Nights are a community-led initiative creating a relaxed, inclusive space where young people can connect and share ideas on issues that matter within the Northern Suburbs of Launceston.

A Space for Voice and Connection

Youth Voices Project Pizza Nights are a community-led initiative creating a relaxed, inclusive space where young people can connect, share ideas, and contribute to conversations that matter within the Northern Suburbs of Launceston.

Built around genuine listening, the sessions give young people space to share experiences and perspectives while exploring real-life challenges and opportunities such as training and education, employment, and housing. The focus is on creative thinking, shared ideas, and genuine connection in an environment where young people feel comfortable, respected, and heard.

More than conversation, the sessions are about strengthening youth voice, building confidence, and supporting young people to play an active role in shaping ideas that influence their future and community.

For many participants, the sessions provide a space to:

  • Share views and lived experiences

  • Discuss future pathways, training, employment, and housing.

  • Explore ideas creatively and collaboratively

  • Connect with others in their age group

  • Contribute to wider community conversations

The programme will include both high school aged people and young adults aged 18–25, ensuring conversations reflect different experiences, priorities, and perspectives.

By creating consistent spaces for youth voice, the initiative supports stronger connection, deeper understanding, and more responsive youth-focused approaches across the Northern Suburbs of Launceston.

Youth Voices Project Canvas

The Youth Voices Project Canvas is a creative initiative planned as part of the Pizza Nights, designed to offer a shared space where young people can express themselves in their own way.

At Youth Voices Project Pizza Nights, participants are invited to contribute in whatever way feels right, whether that’s writing a name, sharing a word, drawing something meaningful, or capturing a thought in the moment.

Over time, the canvas is intended to become a visual reflection of the young people involved, capturing identity, creativity, belonging, and presence within the community.

More than just an artwork, it represents shared ownership. It gives young people the opportunity to leave their mark, feel seen, and recognise that they are part of something being shaped together.

A simple but powerful reminder that every voice matters.
