Youth Revolution Hangout
A weekly after-school drop-in space where high school students come together in a safe, relaxed environment to connect, build relationships have fun and feel a sense of belonging.
What is the Hangout?
The Youth Revolution Hangout is where it all began.
Created in response to the need for safe and welcoming after-school spaces, it is a weekly programme where local High School Students gather to connect, share great food and spend time together in a relaxed space.
Each Monday after school at Newnham Christian Fellowship Church includes food, music, conversation, games and time to unwind. Shared meals like loaded fries, nachos, pancakes and toasties are created by our very own James Qualified Master Chef, which are enjoyed in our relaxed and familiar atmosphere.
It is a welcoming space where our youth can be themselves, spend time with others, have fun, wait for the bus and feel supported outside of school.
What’s it like at the Hangout
Through connection, encouragement, and care, young people are supported to feel welcome, respected, and included.
For many young people, the Hangout is a place to:
Connect with friends
Meet new people
Take a break after school
Feel included and supported
Spend time in a relaxed space
Be themselves
Now in its second year, the Hangout is a valued weekly space for many young people. It shows how consistent connection builds confidence, wellbeing, and belonging.
Events like the Youth Revolution Talent Show highlight the creativity and confidence that grows when young people are given space to express themselves.
For many, Mondays have become something to look forward to — a place where they feel seen, heard, and accepted.
See You There
The Hangout runs every Monday during school terms from 3:00 PM at Newnham Christian Fellowship Church. It is a free drop-in space to connect, relax, and feel supported.
